All About Me!My name is Ann Marks, and I am excited about the start another exciting year with my new fifth graders. I look forward to working in partnership both my students and their parents. Here at West View Elementary School, students are always our first priority! It is a great place to teach and learn! This will be my eleventh year teaching elementary students in Spartanburg School District Six. I have taught both forth and fifth grades at West View for the past six years. I earned a degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Elementary Education from the University of California, Fullerton. After teaching in California, I stayed home to raise my children for 15 years during which time my family relocated to South Carolina. While working on a Masters of Education at University of South Carolina, Upstate, I earned my South Carolina teaching credentials. I continued my studies at Converse College in Spartanburg. I live in Greer, and am married to my wonderful husband, TJ. I have two children, Ryan and Rebecca, one daughter-in-law, Lizzy, and three step-daughters, Amanda, Katlyn, and Elizabeth. My son Ryan graduated from Clemson and is an engineer. . His wife, Lizzy, serves in the Air Force. and they have a home on Daniel Island, near Charleston, SC. Rebecca just graduated from Savannah School of Art and Design (SCAD)'s. Atlanta campus. She is pursuing a career as a writer. Amanda is married, and she and her husband have a son, Chastin. Little Chastin is 2 years old and cute as can be. Katlyn is beginning herjunior year at USC Upstate, studying nursing. Last but not least, Elizabeth is a completing her middle school career as a eighth grader. We also own a very sweet Golden Doodle we call Ethan. Needless to say, we have a very busy life! I encourage all of my students to strive for academic excellence, exceptional character, good citizenship, and to be an active participant in our classroom activities. I encourage parents to be active in our activities as well and welcome your comments, suggestions, and concerns. There are also many opportunities parents to get involved as a classroom and PTO volunteer. I will communicate with you regularly through weekly newsletters, Friday folders, and our class website (MrsMarkswves.weebly.com). If you ever have any concerns or questions, would like to volunteer, or schedule a conference, you can e-mail at [email protected] or leave me a message at school. Welcome back to school!
